The architectural intervention of Jardin de l’Ange aims to rejuvenate a square that has long served as a vital hub for community life due to its inherent nature and strategic location.
Enhancing Square Utilization
The primary objective is to enhance and solidify the utilization of the square, envisioned as an amphitheater with permanent bleachers covered in local stones. These elements delineate the public space while defining pedestrian access points.
Daytime Interaction and Nighttime Transformation
During the day, Jardin de l’Ange serves as an interactive gathering space, akin to an open-air living room. However, the architectural transformation allows for a dynamic shift at night, turning the square into an interactive social area.
Innovative Chalet Façade
The intervention extends to the chalet façade, featuring a technological wall equipped with mechanized LED panels. This versatile setup can reveal a convertible stage, adaptable in size and shape for various events. Additionally, an innovatively designed technical covering adds a fresh aesthetic to the building’s front, playing with lights and shadows.
Dynamic Covering Structure
A total white covering, comprising a metallic structure with circular section elements, is incorporated into the project. This structure, visible year-round, undergoes a seasonal transformation. In summer, it is adorned with tie rods and white technical fabric, providing shade, lighting effects, and rain protection.
Inspired by Mont Blanc
The design elements of the covering draw inspiration from the Mont Blanc skyline, with lines reminiscent of the majestic peaks towering behind the chalet. This homage reflects the grandeur and majesty of the iconic mountain range, known as the “Giant.”
Through thoughtful architectural interventions, Jardin de l’Ange is poised to reclaim its position as a vibrant community space, catering to diverse activities and events while celebrating the natural beauty of its surroundings.
